Day Three: Paris to the Chateau de Croix, Beaujolais wine region!

Today we were headed to the Chateau! In Beautiful Southern France = A long drive ahead of us. But to be honest, Paris had pretty much gotten the better of us and we were all out like a light. The wake up song; Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP, We No Speak, was fast becoming the most detested song as it beat down on our ear drums as we approached new destinations; ie. Service stops along the way.

We stopped in a little town; Fountain Bleu which hosted the Palace of Fontaine Bleu. Rather pretty. We grabbed a bite and a photo or two and were off again towards the Beaujolais wine region.
We arrived at the beautiful Chateau and wow it was just stunning. The view, the landscape, everything was just out of a novel. Picture perfect. It was four to a room and we were to stay only one night. Pity.

After revelling in its beauty, and some rays we headed to a wine tasting a short walk away. We tried a delicious red wine - and I don't even like red wine! I loved that it was made right there and sold all over the show. We were given a taste of the history also by the contiki members stationed at the Chateau. And also advised against the so-called 'boire de morte' = Drink of Death. It looked like a particularly menacing bottle of strong spirits with a snake inside of it. I didn't realise until later that I would not just try it once, but a few times.... bad decision.

After a delightful dinner, we all got ready for the 'tight and bright' party which was to be held down in the 'cave'. We thought it was something mysterious, but it was just a very cool, very dark bar with two dance areas downstairs. We were just having a ball. One shot. Two Shots. Three shots. Floor.

Good times all around however. Many a good story that came out of the night. Rated: CCO. Contiki Crew members knowledge only. The photos speak a thousand words also.

What a greatly remembered night all around. Lets just leave it at that shall we?
